What
we can copy
Photocopies or printouts can be provided of many items listed
in CII Library Online. If an item can be copied in its entirety
there will be a note in the record saying it can be, eg "Photocopy
available, subject to copyright". For legal reasons complete
copies cannot be provided of other items.
The copying
service is provided under the UK Copyright (Librarians and
Archivists) (Copying of Copyright Material) Regulations 1989.
All copying is subject to the following rules and the declaration
on the order form.
Articles.
Only one copy of one article may be copied from a particular
issue of a periodical.
Separate
publications. No more than one chapter or 5% (whichever
is the greater) may be copied from a published book or pamphlet.
Unpublished
material can generally be copied in its entirety.
Electronic
resources (eg CD-ROMs). Limits for printouts are
generally as above, depending on the nature of the item. If
in doubt, please enquire.
Items
not in stock. If you would like a photocopy from
an item which is not in stock it will often be possible to
obtain this for you from the British Library.
How to order
To
order copies simply print the order form you need, fill it
in and post or fax it to us. It is a legal requirement that
you personally sign the order form, so orders cannot be accepted
by e-mail. A different form is required for published and
unpublished items; please be sure to use the correct one.
For charges you will need to check copying codes from item
records against the charges table below.
