Aggressive Betting = Great Intimidation

Aggressive betting in Texas Hold’em is ultimately more profitable over time as it contributes to an overall intimidation strategy which, if done right, can affect all but the most seasoned players. Here is a great pre-flop strategy that is easy to implement.

Don’t Let the Limpers Get Away

In Texas Hold’em, just as in life, timing is everything. Good players understand that the time to change strategies and become more aggressive is when your stack size decreases in relation to the number of chips in the money pot.

Limpers are those players who do not adjust but continue to limp along in the hopes of seeing a flop for cheap. You can expect that these limpers are holding a middle to marginally high card combination. In order to truly take advantage of these players, you must have a basic understanding of his or her state of play. Is he passive? Does she get emotionally attached to her hand? If so, this limper is ripe for the picking. Go ahead and raise them, but be conscious of your stack size.

Watch Your Stack Size

Some online casino bonuses can help your stack stay higher, but if you have a smaller stack size compared to the size of the pre-flop pot, push all-ins; otherwise go for the folds. The point is to steal the dead money in the pot without being forced to call another player’s “all-in” with an insufficient hand.

Betting aggressively is risky so don’t stretch yourself too far.
